A Lifetime of Doing the Real Work
Robert Binda has spent years doing the unglamorous work of local government — the kind that never makes headlines but keeps a town running.
He currently serves as Vice Chair of Gilford's Zoning Board of Adjustment, sits on the Capital Improvement Committee, and was elected to the Budget Committee. As a former water commissioner for the Gunstock Acres Water District, he saw firsthand just how costly infrastructure can be — and how important it is to spend every dollar wisely.
Before that, he ran multiple businesses for over 45 years. He knows what it means to make a budget work when the numbers have to add up at the end of the month.
Binda is running for the New Hampshire House because towns like Gilford are being asked to do more with less. State and federal money is shrinking. Local costs are not. He believes every dollar should go where it actually matters — not where it simply sounds good. The Lakes Region is a good place to live and do business, and he intends to keep it that way for the generations coming after us.
Priorities for the Lakes Region
No Broad-Based Taxation
Robert Binda will vote against any attempt to implement a broad-based income or sales tax in New Hampshire, protecting the Granite State's unique tax advantage that draws residents and businesses from across the region. He will work to reduce the property tax burden Belknap County homeowners face by pushing state government to live within its means rather than shifting costs onto local communities.
Fewer Mandates on Our Towns
Robert Binda will work to roll back unfunded state mandates that force Belknap County towns to raise property taxes just to meet requirements set in Concord. He will push for legislation requiring the state to cover the costs of any new mandate it imposes on municipalities — keeping spending decisions where they belong, with local officials who answer directly to their neighbors.

After 45 years in business and years on the local budget and capital improvement committees, Robert knows how to separate what communities truly need from what merely sounds good.
